On June 4 and 6, 2026, the headquarters of the North-Northeast Union (UNNE) in Fortaleza was the venue for the 1st Meeting of Members of the Deaf Ministry Reformists (MISUR), a milestone for strengthening inclusion, evangelistic mission, and work focused on the deaf community in the reformist environment. The program brought together members and leaders committed to the development of the ministry, providing moments of learning, consecration, communion, and missionary planning.

One of the most important moments of the meeting was the official inauguration of the MISUR board for the 2026-2029 quadrennium. The new leadership was constituted as follows: Director: Raquece Mota Honório Cruz 1st Vice-Director: Flaviane Martins 2nd Vice-Director: Luis Gustavo Lima Araújo Treasurer: Tércio Santiago, treasurer of the Southwest Union Secretary: Katelyn Martins de Souza Advisors: Pastor Joas Barbosa and Pastor Leonardo Evangelista.

The program included lectures and messages focused on spiritual strengthening and improving missionary work. Katelyn Souza Marquez presented the theme "The Deaf and Exclusion from the Church", leading participants to reflect on the challenges faced by the deaf community and the need to promote a truly accessible and welcoming church.

The president of the North-Northeast Union, Pastor Francharles Figueroa, delivered the lecture "The Mission of the Church", emphasizing that the gospel must reach all people and that inclusion is an essential part of fulfilling the mission entrusted by God to His church.

Flaviane Martins presented the History of MISUR, recalling the ministry's trajectory, its advances and challenges, inspiring those present to continue investing in the work in favor of the deaf.

Another highlight of the program was Pastor Joas Barbosa's message on the theme "Consecration for Service in MISUR". In his reflection, he emphasized the importance of each team member seeking a deep experience of consecration in order to perform excellent and pleasing work to God.

The elected director, Raquece Cruz, delivered the lecture "Deaf Culture in the Reformist Environment", addressing issues related to the translation process and sign language in Libras within the church. The presentation aimed to clarify doubts and contribute to understanding the particularities of deaf culture, promoting greater unity and efficiency in communication.

On Saturday, Luis Gustavo Lima Araújo presented a message based on the meeting's motto: "The Gospel in My Hands". In his sermon, he highlighted the responsibility of the entire church to learn Libras, stating that only through this collective effort will it be possible to build a truly inclusive community for the deaf.

One of the most emotional moments of the event was the visit of a young deaf woman who participated in the activities. Showing great interest in learning more about the Church, she closely followed the program and, at the end of the meeting, stated that being among the brothers was a unique and very special experience.

The 1st MISUR Meeting ended with a feeling of gratitude and spiritual renewal, strengthening the Church's commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and preaching the gospel to all people. The event goes down in history as an important step for the growth of the Deaf Ministry Reformists and for the expansion of the mission among the deaf community.
